Corner Allen Street and Pyrmont Street (31 Wheat Road, Darling Harbour)
The Woolbrokers Hotel was first established in 1886 as a pub three years after the Goldsborough Mort was built across the road and was well known amongst the earlier generations of wool employees, buyers and brokers. Hence the name “The Woolbrokers”.
With 19 wool stores, the wharf and railway yards (now Darling Harbour) in the immediate vicinity there was never a shortage of workers looking for a drink. The Woolbrokers Hotel filled this need.
In 1991 The Woolbrokers was totally refurbished to a Bed and Breakfast.
