Waterfront Park

Waterfront Park occupies 1.2 hectares of land at the western end of Bowman Street. The park incorporates many features proposed by residents, including extensive terracing, walking paths, barbecues, seating, and a small playground.

The site’s heritage is referenced by three giant, rusting spheres formerly used in the production of CSR’s cane-ite building board, and an enigmatic sculpture titled Metamorphosis.

Artist Statement
“This sculpture is based on the simple observation that the transformation taking place at Jacksons Landing reflects our changing perceptions about the landscape. The pieces that make up Metamorphosis, like the basic elements of the site, remain constant. Only their orientation and one’s perception of them changes.”    Anton James, 2007
