Land’s End Hotel / The Point
Corner of John Street and Harris St, 1850.
Established as the Land’s End Hotel, changed to Royal Pacific in 1880 and Pyrmont Point Hotel in 1996. It was a meeting place for the most notorious crime boss, ‘Neddy’ Smith. Criminal gangs maintained ‘protection’, a monopoly of criminality and violence. The hotel was renovated late 2003 and renamed The Point.
